Subject: A Miracle
My
Dearest Russ,
You don't know me but I know you fairly well. My name is
Jamie and I was the first Emergency Medical Technician on scene of your
accident. I was first to be with you on scene and I stayed with you, bandaged
you up, breathed for you, suctioned you, took care of you, prayed for you, and
cried for you, and was last to leave you that night at Robert Wood Johnson. From
that night on I tried to follow your progress, but the hospital is very
secretive about their patients and would not give me any updates on your
condition. I carried your name, birthdate and RWJ's phone number on a piece of
paper in my purse for months trying to get information on you. Honestly, I did
not even know if you had survived the night. There has not been a day since then
that I have not thought about you or asked someone if they have heard anything
about your status. Finally, someone showed me the newspaper article, and I was
over-joyed to hear it was you. Then someone fowarded me this website and now I
am finally able to see how you are doing. I can't look at your face or see
pictures fo your car without tears coming to my eyes. Most patients I take care
of do not affect me the way that you have. Maybe I care so much because you are
so close to my age, I don't know.
You are a miracle. Keep on getting
better. You have come this far and don't let anything stop you. I know we don't
know eachother but if you ever need anything, you can call on me. I will hold
you in my prayers and thoughts forever. Get well soon.
Sincerly,
Jamie
