How to download and install Windows Media Player

If you are not able to play the video files you may not have Windows Media Player loaded on your computer. Windows Media Player is a free program you can download from Microsoft. Follow the steps below:

• Open Internet Explorer
• Choose Tools, then Windows Update

(If you have never used Windows Update you will get a message telling you to download and install the update software. Follow those instructions and then start these instructions over again.)

• At the “Welcome to Windows Update” screen click the “Scan for Updates” link
• The software will scan your computer for updates. There will be three categories of updates. Critical Updates & Service Packs, Windows Updates, and Driver Updates.
• If you do not have the latest version of Windows Media Player installed it will be listed under Windows Updates
• Scroll down to the Windows Media Player update and press the add button
• Click the review and install link at the top of the page
• Follow the remaining instructions
• This will walk you through the steps to download and install Windows Media Player. After it is loaded you should be able to play the video files.
